Associate professor Suekane was selected under international Chairs of Excellence

Associate professor Suekane has been selected under international Chairs of Excellence(Blaise Pascal Chairs).

The Ile-de-France and the state launched the international research chairs Blaise Pascal. Each Chair allows a foreign scientist very high level of international fame and all disciplines (exact sciences, life sciences, social sciences, applied sciences and new technology), to continue its work around a scientific project for 12 months possibly spread over 2 years,accompanied, if desired, by others , in a higher education institution or research of Paris / Ile-de-France.

They enrich the prestigious list of the 86 holders of international Chairs welcomed in Ile-de-France including Michael Levitt (Chair 2002 Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2013), Elizabeth BLACKBURN (Chair 2012 Nobel Prize in Medicine 2009), Georges SMOOT (Chair 2008 Nobel Prize in physics 2006), Ahmed Zewail (Chair 2004 Nobel Prize in chemistry 1999) and Gerard DEBREU (Chair 1998 Nobel Prize in economics 1983).

Associate professor Suekane is the 3rd person to be selected from Japan and the 1st person to be selected from experimental particle physics field.  He is going to stay at APC  research center of Paris university for researching Neutrino oscillations, giving lectures , and writing a book.
