A Brief Description:
The SLD experiment was an e+e- colliding beam experiment performed at SLAC. The SLC accelerator generated polarized Z0 particle and SLD performed precise measurements of the Weinberg angle, other electro weak parameters and QCD parameters.
I was maily in charge of R&D of the CCD based Vertex detector, which had the best vertex resolution in colliding beam experiments. Tohoku group invented a powerful cluster finding and noise reduction algorithm and implemented it in FPGA to reduce the data size manageable level from 300Mpixels of data flow.
